Hi, sorry was away this past few days.
I have tried it on Joomla 1.5 RC2.
You have to enable System - Legacy support.
Steps:
Extensions -> Plugin Manager -> System - Legacy
Then click on Enable column.
After that, try to install Adbrite module again. This time it will work.
